Verizon iPhones Review
As recently announced by Verizon COO Lowell McAdam and Apple COO Tim Cook to an eager audience in New York, Verizon will soon be given the go ahead to sell Apple's popular flagship smart phone device, the iPhone. On February 10, 2011 we will all be allowed to make a decision on our service provider when purchasing a new iPhone, and preliminary details have been released detailing some of the benefits of choosing a Verizon iPhone over the models being sold by AT&T.
The largest expected benefit is that the Verizon iPhone will be built to connect to Verizon's CDMA network, which should provide greater stability than AT&T's current GSM network. In addition, Verizon has announced that the Verizon iPhone will be set up with a remarkable new feature. iPhone users will now be able to connect their new and used Verizon iPhones with up to 5 other Wi-Fi devices, which allows them to, in essence, become a personal Wi-Fi "Hot Spot".
Verizon has announced two main plans for iPhone customers, each involving a two year contract. The first plan will cost consumers $199.99 and will feature a 16 gigabyte Verizon iPhone model. The second plan will cost $299.99 and will feature a 32 gigabyte Verizon iPhone model. 4G capabilities are not yet forthcoming, however, many industry analysts expect that such a feature could be added by as early as the summer of 2011.
Another possible benefit of purchasing a new or used Verizon iPhone is that it's been reported that Verizon may offer their iPhone customers an unlimited data plan, which will stand in stark contrast to AT&T's current tightly capped data plans. However the competition shapes up, it seems certain that Verizon's entry into the market will mark a step forward in allowing consumers a greater range of desirable choices.
